Voices & Voyages connects the global Māori and Pasifika diaspora — professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and community leaders from Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa, building lives and careers far from home. It's a platform to spotlight the amazing things we're doing away from home, how we build community when home is the other side of the world, and a shared curiosity about each other's journeys.
The idea came from fifteen years in strategy and transformation across global organisations in London — spanning health, fintech, FMCG, and now private education. Along that journey, she's met countless extraordinary people doing remarkable things across every career, industry, and sector — and this is a chance for that community to talk about the incredible stuff they do, are involved in, and lead.
Māori and Pasifika talent is already out there, doing the work, building careers and lives. What was missing was the space to share and amplify those stories — a platform for spotlights, and events to connect us in person.
Questions like how we navigate global workspaces as ourselves, or what it means to be away from home for so long, had nowhere to go. That space didn't exist — Voices & Voyages is here to provide it.
How Claire navigates global spaces is shaped by being intrinsically Māori and working collaboratively — bringing her whole self to work, even when it's not explicit. That same relational way of operating sits at the heart of why Voices & Voyages exists.
People back themselves — one hundred percent. They step outside their comfort zone, and even when it doesn't work, they stand up, dust themselves off, and pivot. Having a global worldview is a real benefit: there are opportunities overseas, and leaving Aotearoa — even for a short time — only ever broadens your understanding of other people's lives. We always take those lessons home with us. There's a real gap in sharing those stories with people back home, helping them know and understand.
